Since 1989, FUMC has supported UMC Missionary Dr. Judy Matheny in her aid to the people of this poor, coal-mining community by sending financial aid or work teams to help build or repair homes.

 

 

The Heifer Project

For nearly 60 years this project has supplied farm animals to impoverished families and towns (a goat, a cow, a flock of chickens, etc) to help them pull away from the cycle of starvation and other deprivations. This project is supported annually by our elementary Sunday School classes.

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMViM)

 

UMViM helps connect volunteers with suitable projects and need around the world. Many local churches send UMViM teams to other parts of the United States as well as into other countries.

 

 

UMCoR: The United Methodist Committee on Relief

Important to know: 100% of your donations to UMCOR Advance Specials (like Nothing But Nets and Malaria Control) go to that Mission. UMCOR takes nothing out for administrative costs or overhead as their organization is funded through other means.
