06/01: Indoor, In-Person Worship Returns to Franconia UMC!

06/01: Indoor, In-Person Worship Returns to Franconia UMC!

Due to the improved Covid-19 outlook and updated requirements from the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church, the Healthy Church Team has made the decision to move our in-person worship service to the Sanctuary.  Those plans have now been approved by the District Superintendent.  Beginning June 13th at 10 AM, we invite you to come and praise God as we gather in our sanctuary together for the first time in fifteen months.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and perseverance over this time.  I want to especially thank the Healthy Church Team and the Worship Committee for their continued work as we strive to offer meaningful and safe worship.  With the high value our congregation places on welcoming and inclusion, we want to ensure that all are included and can participate in worship.  While we recognize that masking requirements are being relaxed in the larger community, in order for our church to be a safe place for everyone, especially our children, we ask that people wear masks and practice social distancing, regardless of their vaccination status.  Additional details for the in-person worship service will be shared in the e-news and in a mission moment in our upcoming worship service.

For those who wish to continue to worship virtually, we will have our online worship service that will be available on Sunday at 10 AM each week.  And for our online community, we will also offer a brief Communion Liturgy on the first Sunday of the month at 11:15 AM beginning July 4th.

While this time has reminded us that our church is not a building, it will certainly be a glorious day when we gather together again.

Blessings,

Pastor Melissa
