Fellow congregants,
At our Church Conference this past June, we approved changing our leadership structure in 2024 to that of a Simplified Accountable Structure, or SAS structure for short.
This SAS structure will be built around a volunteer Leadership Board and a series of Mission and Management Teams, all of whom will work in coordination with the Pastor and church staff. Together, we will strive to accomplish our church’s mission of building a community of Christ’s love to serve the world.
Now that we have approved our new structure, the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee is seeking candidates to serve and lead the church into the future. These include members of our primary leadership body, the Leadership Board, the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee itself, and Mission and Management Team Leaders. Please prayerfully consider serving in these important leadership positions. Selected candidates will receive training at the end of this year to prepare them for assuming their duties, so they will be fully prepared to operate within the new structure.
If you are interested in serving, please fill out the Leadership Interest Form. This form will assist our committee in selecting potential candidates. The form provides some expectations of leadership positions, and summarizes our church’s Mission, our Core Values, and the Marks of a Loving Disciple. This information will be helpful as you consider how you might best serve in the new leadership structure. Please submit this form to the Church Office by August 13th. It may be submitted electronically here or there are hard copies available at our worship services.
We ask all congregants to prayerfully reflect on participating in leading our church next year. If you have any questions, please talk with Pastor Melissa, or Lay Leader Kathy Henry, or contact any member of the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee at the email address: gro.cmuainocnarf@snoitanimon. We welcome your interest and your inquiries and look forward to having the opportunity to talk in more detail with interested members about this great opportunity.
Sincerely,
Members of the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee
