Confirmation

Confirmation

And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. – 1 Corinthians 2: 13-14

The objective of the confirmation process is to assist the youth in:

1) exploring the meaning of discipleship,

2) learning the history of Methodism,

3) and understanding the responsibility of church membership.

It is our prayer that through this process, each confirmand is led to declare their love of God through Jesus Christ by receiving the gift of salvation.

The beginning of the confirmation process includes an orientation with the parents and youth to discuss an overview of the upcoming process. There is a commitment that requires weekly attendance in confirmation sessions as well as regular attendance and participation in the worship service.  A confirmation service is held at the conclusion of the process. A worship service is led by the confirmands and a public proclamation of their love of God through Jesus Christ is made as they become members of the church.
