Greening the Church
Calling all volunteers! We are decorating the church for Advent/Christmas on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 12:30 p.m. (after the 11:00 a.m. service). We need a lot of help transforming the church, so if you are able to help it would be much appreciated. Please meet us in the sanctuary.
Veterans’ Day Recognition
Each year we recognize all those in our congregation who have served in our nation’s military. We invite these men and women who have honorably served the United States of America for our freedom’s sake to attend worship (and if so inclined to wear your uniforms/medals) this Sunday, November 13 at our 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. worship service. The sacrifices made by each veteran and their families are much appreciated and we choose this time to honor those among us…
Conversations on Race and Faith
The next Conversations on Race and Faith will be November 13th at 1pm on zoom. This month we will look at the question of: What “I Don’t See Color” Really Means. Although white people may be well intentioned, when you ignore or minimize other people’s racial identities; you are ignoring the reality and impact of ongoing institutional and systemic racism that Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) face daily. “Not seeing color” may come across as, “I’m choosing to…

The Heart That Grew Three Sizes: Finding Faith in the Story of the Grinch by Matt Rawle We don’t know why the Grinch hated Christmas. We just know he did. In this Advent study, Matt Rawle explores the faith themes in the Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! including, how did the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes come Christmas morning? How did Christmas save the Grinch? Could it be that the very thing we think we hate is the…

Coffee and Conversation
Coffee and Conversation is a group that meets Sunday mornings from 10:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m. in Cokesbury Hall. We watch a short film narrated by Rob Bell, former pastor of Mars Hill Church in Michigan and author of Love Wins. Each video is less than 14 minutes and blends everyday events with a discussion about God. This week (Nov. 13, 2022) we will watch “Noise.” Why is silence so hard to deal with? Why is it so much easier for us…

In order to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ, the SALT Bible Study group will begin a new four-lesson Advent study Wednesday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom.
