Praise and Worship Nights

Join us July 7, July 28, and August 25 for our Summer Praise and Worship Sessions at 7:30pm! These evenings will bring our worship community together for heartfelt prayer and meaningful music. Just like the Christian music festivals we love, come experience God and worship together with Franconia UMC’s Praise Band. Perfect evening for adults and teens! If you have any questions, please reach out to our Praise Band Leader, Kevin Lackie (gro.cmuainocnarf@cisum).

Ice Cream Sundaes

Following our VBS service on Sunday, July 17, we’ll meet in the back parking lot and assemble our own ice cream sundaes. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the parents of the children who have attended our VBS the previous week. Please plan on coming out, enjoying some ice cream and showing these families who Franconia UMC really is. (Also, the ice cream will taste better if you volunteer as a crew leader and/or a…

New SALT Study!

Please join us on Zoom  Wednesday mornings at 10:30 beginning July 20th for a new Bible Study – “Ezra & Nehemiah: Rediscover God’s Presence” Synopsis: When life is a shambles, we wonder what went wrong and long to see things put right. And often we long for the sense of God’s presence to return to our lives. The city of Jerusalem was a shambles–both its walls and its worship were crumbling. Ezra and Nehemiah longed to see their city restored…

Walk-a-Thon Sponsors Still Wanted

The walk-a-thon ends on June 30, but our work isn’t done. We are trying to raise money for our Rise Against Hunger event in October. Our walkers (Team Godspeed in Mitchell, South Dakota and Team J-Walkers here in Franconia) are still looking for sponsors. Please consider sponsoring a team or an individual walker or the event as a whole by making a donation through our e-giving (be sure to choose Rise Against Hunger in the drop-down menu) or through the…

Help Wanted: People to deliver Phoenix Rising Meals

The Phoenix Rising ministry provides bagged meals once a month to those in need along the Route 1 corridor. Summer is here and we desperately need volunteers to help deliver meals. New delivery people will be paired with experienced folks. Every month, Phoenix Rising relies on the congregation for continuing donations of canned tuna, bread, juice boxes, pudding cups, fruit cups or applesauce, chips, cookies and granola bars that are used to assemble approximately 150 bagged meals. Any non-perishable donations can…

Buy Flowers at Kingstowne Giant, Support Phoenix Rising

We are so excited to share that Phoenix Rising has been selected to be a part of the Giant Food Bloomin’ 4 Good Program, created to fight the hunger crisis across the communities we serve. For the month of July, each time a Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet with a purple hanging tag is purchased at the Giant Food located in Kingstowne, $1 will be donated to Phoenix Rising. This is a great way to raise awareness in the local community,…

Calling all volunteers!

Our Monumental VBS is growing near and we are closer to having all of our volunteer positions covered. We still need 1 crew leader for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 2 crew leaders for Thursday. A crew leader is similar to chaperoning a school field trip but no bus ride. You would need to be at the church by 8:30 and would be done by 12:30. If you can help or have questions, please contact Linda Biscardo at gro.cmuainocnarf@yrtsinimsnerdlihc Help…

Vacation Bible School Volunteers and Donations Needed

Decorating Items needed for VBS This year our VBS is set in the southwest. We are looking for some items for our campsite set for the sanctuary. If you have a small tent, sleeping bags, or camp chairs we could borrow, please let Linda Biscardo at gro.cmuainocnarf@yrtsinimsnerdlihc know. These items will not be used by the children. They will strictly be for decorating the sanctuary. Help still needed for VBS We are also still in need of 3 crew leaders…

ADP Self-Assessment Next Steps Extended Deadline June 19

Sunday’s message (6/12) was a great review of how to be a disciple.  Pastor Melissa reminded us that following in the footsteps of Jesus may not be enough – we need to live into and carry out our lives as much like Jesus as we can.  Further, we are encouraged to serve and love others in the ways Jesus teaches us in the Bible. Franconia UMC Adult Discipleship Ministry team thanks those who have completed the Adult Discipleship Plan (ADP)…
