Coffee and Conversation Sunday, December 11th
Join us in Cokesbury Hall Dec. 11, 2022 from 10:15am-10:45 for Coffee and Conversation. We will watch a short video by Rob Bell, former pastor of Mars Hill Church in Grandville, MI. This week we’ll watch and discuss Dust: Believing in God is important, but what about God believing in us? Believing that we can actually be the kind of people we were meant to be. People of love, compassion, peace, forgiveness, and hope. People who try to do the right…
Conversations on Race and Faith
The next Conversations on Race and Faith will be December 11, 2022 at 1:00PM on zoom. This month we will look at the problem of structural housing inequality. Initially we will see how federal legislation codified racial housing segregation in the law. Even though fair housing laws were meant to address the structural inequality, simply changing the law doesn’t address the inequality. Next, we look at an example of a program to change the situation and how that program had…

Additionally, the congregation has also donated the supplies to create 10 holiday gift baskets for Koinonia! We have one last holiday drive, and that is the collection of $25 gift cards that will be provided to the parents of children in need so that the…

We invite these men and women who have honorably served the United States of America for our freedom’s sake to attend worship (and if so inclined to wear your uniforms/medals) this Sunday, November 13 at our 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. worship service. The sacrifices made by each veteran and their families are much appreciated and we choose this time to honor those among us…
Conversations on Race and Faith
The next Conversations on Race and Faith will be November 13th at 1pm on zoom. This month we will look at the question of: What “I Don’t See Color” Really Means. Although white people may be well intentioned, when you ignore or minimize other people’s racial identities; you are ignoring the reality and impact of ongoing institutional and systemic racism that Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) face daily. “Not seeing color” may come across as, “I’m choosing to…
